Knowledge of Zoom, Teams and/or other video conferencing applications Job Description The McCoy College of Business invites applications for the position of Systems Support Specialist II.
This position is responsible for the maintenance and support of the technology resources of the McCoy College of Business for faculty, staff, and computing labs including installing, troubleshooting, and supporting computing hardware, operating systems, software applications, and peripherals.
The position requires excellent communication skills and diplomacy when working with faculty and staff.
This position will report to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs.
Job Duties Faculty and Staff Support Manage computer hardware, software installations, upgrades, and reimaging across five departments, the Dean's Office suite, Foundations, Sales Center, and the Student Success Center Make needed repairs and ensure that both Windows OS and MAC OS systems are operating correctly Provide technical support, advice, and feedback Collaborate with university IT services (ITAC) relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications - Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Terminal Services/RDS, etc.
Plan and implement disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security Classroom, Conference Room & Lab Support Collaborate with business and finance data providers such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and WRDS to maintain compatibility and facilitate user technical issues Assisting with day-to-day operations of college computer lab(s) Maintain conference room audio, visual, hardware and software Provide specialized support for department-specific programs, systems, and applications Support the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services, classroom technologies, and email provision Test and modify systems to ensure that they operate reliably Design and implement teaching lab maintenance procedures Coordinate and distribute technology resources as requested by faculty for class or individual use College Support Process the ordering of computers on the refresh cycle Assist departments with processing the ordering and installation of new computers, peripheral devices, and new software (not on refresh cycle) Provide first line of support to Dean's Office and college conference rooms Document college technology-related processes Assist departments with maintaining software licensing records and obtaining quotes and IT Security permissions for software renewals and new software requests Assist departments with ensuring technology meets current accessibility laws Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes and system configurations Keep accurate inventory and data records Hire and supervise student assistants, providing tasks and approving time reports Participate in planning and designing instructional and informational technologies to meet the growing needs of the college Maintain currency with new technology and software Key Skills Attention to detail Team player Organization and time management Interpersonal and communication skills Proactive customer service attitude Work independently in a fast-paced environment Additional Expectations Acquisition and maintenance of credentials directly related to position responsibilities The ability to occasionally work outside of normal working hours Other duties as assigned.
