Commodity Program Buyer

SUMMARY
The Gypsum/Forest Products Program Buyer is a growth-oriented individual who works interdependently with the field, co-workers, and vendor community to keep stores stocked with high-performing inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned
Works interdependently with other Forest Products buyers to aid in the decision making process as it concerns distribution methods
Interacts directly with the Forest Products Manager in the development of all contracts on behalf of McCoy's
Maintains company freight charts and MAC21 freight codes. Reconciles freight invoices in Content Manager
Communicates directly with the Accounts Payable Department to problem solve invoice discrepancies, primarily through Content Manager
Works with and through McCoy's Information Systems to develop improvements and modifications to the MAC21 Replenishment System
Works Interdependently with the Store Planning Department on decisions about racking, storage, and/or product displays for which the buyer is responsible
Actively seeks out reputable mills and plants to provide quality forest products with superior service for our stores/reload centers; make provisions for secondary sources as needed
Establish pricing, payment terms, minimums, and tallies consistent with McCoy store/reload needs, in a manner consistent with industry best practices
Directly responsible for the replenishment of stock levels at all store locations for each item the buyer is responsible for
Measures and monitors out-of-stocks, turns and GMROI, for each item for which the buyer is responsible. Monitors SEI report for opportunity to move excess inventory
Continually maintains MAC21 system parameters (re-order points, re-order quantities, costs, safety quantities/factors, on-hand max, vendor lead days, admin lead days, store groupings)
Determining which items of a product should be added or deleted on a per store basis
Buys in programs for other Forest Products Buyers in their absence as needed
Primary product line and area of responsibility include
Drywall
Replenishment of reload programs in designated regions
Assist with purchasing of distribution-based products lines including sidings, cedar boards, southern pine boards.
Prepare weekly costing including Random Lengths, Hixson, and panels
Submit market reports to stores and regions as needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to utilize strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills necessary for managing multiple issues at one time in a professional manner and under minimal supervision
Ability to utilize MicrosoftWord & Excel, IBM Content Manager, MAC21, and other 3rd party software applications at an intermediate level
Knowledge and understanding of basic and intermediate purchasing principles
WORK AVAILABILITY
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, at such level as is determined by management
Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires occasional travel with overnight stays
Must meet driver's license requirements as required by the Company
Must be able to legally obtain a rental vehicle in all states in which the company does business
Must have current auto liability insurance

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
